As you all know, we are celebrating the advent of this new millennium in just a few months. After Y2K things will never be the same again. A whole new world will emerge out of the computer chaos. YES! computers will all crash, leaving nobody untouched: planes, bank accounts, electronic commerce, telecom will make a big BANG! .
But for sure you did not know this is all bullshit. Because we will not switch to the next millennium until the 1st January 2001!! I am totally crazy or just insane?? Just read this.
Everybody believes the next millennium will start at 00:00:01 at the 1st January 2000. Right? But what little people know is how to think. For example, the Christianity did not start at year 0, but at year 1. There cannot be a year 0. So the first century of Christianity started at year 1 and ended up in year 100, 31st of December, 23:59:59. The second century started at year 101, 1st of January at 00:00:01 and ended up at year 200. And so forth. And the same goes for the millennia. The first millennia started at year 1 and ended at year 1000. The second started at year 1001 to finish at year 2000. 2000 Included!!! So the third millennium will start at year 2001, 1st of January at 00:00:1.
So you are going to celebrate something that will happen only one year later. Do you usually celebrate your birthday one year in advance? Do you celebrate your wedding anniversary one year in advance?? You thought I was crazy.... when I said Y2K and the new millennium was one year later than expected??? It might be the case we all are. So what? Comme on dit, plus on est de fous, plus on rit.
